For over 40 years I have developed life and business strategies for clients then helped implement them by coaching, mentoring or consulting with clients on how to personally thrive and for their businesses to flourish.
I have spoken frequently at conferences, on TV and radio, authored many articles, and co-authored several books and publications. My most recent book is Three Bridges – Adulthood is Easy Until Life Intervenes.
I have spent several decades working to promote British and American business relationships and was fortunate to have been appointed by Her Majesty The Queen as an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) for my services to US and UK commerce.
I live in Westlake Village, California and my passions, besides spending time with my family spread around the globe, are riding my spinning Peloton bike, kayaking, and my lifelong devotion to support Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
For over four decades I have worked with hundreds of wealthy families and business owners across the globe and from many cultures as a trusted advisor or board member.
I have been Chairman of my family-owned retail business for almost 30 years. In addition, I have managed single-family offices for wealthy families and their family businesses, was CEO of HSBC Private Bank in Southern California, and practiced as a Managing Partner at Arthur Andersen for almost 30 years.
I have served as a board member to over 25 boards. I am a Chartered Accountant in the UK and a CPA in the US, but no longer practicing. I have doctorate and master’s degrees in Human Development & Professional Coaching from IUPS and an Economics degree from the London School of Economics (LSE).
Last, while I have learnt much from my professional and academic experiences, my personal life has withstood some major adverse life events and necessary transitions that has taught me to learn some invaluable skills. I use my own life experiences as well as my professional, business and academic skills to focus on optimal decision making to overcome losses, transitions, rewiring and life in general. This has become useful as a board member or advisor to help others as they contemplate how they make the right decisions to address their key challenges in their life and the impact to their business and family.
I earned my Ph.D. and Masters degrees in Human Development and Professional Coaching from the International University of Professional Services (IUPS) and I am a graduate of the London School of Economics with a degree in Economics, Accounting and Finance. I am a faculty member at IUPS and a US advisory board member at LSE. My doctoral thesis was on how positive psychology coaching can help you navigate midlife.
Professionally I am a retired Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a retired member of both the American and California Institutes of Certified Public Accountants (CPA), and been a member for several years of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the Harvard Institute of Coaching (IOC) and the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA).
I am a globally certified positive psychology coach, which permits me to provide my objective insights and enable people to make the best decisions in both their personal and business lives, so they can thrive and flourish.
